What you'll do

We're now looking for a highly motivated Full Stack Senior Software Engineer to drive and create amazing customer experience for our energy trading and automation platform. This is an absolutely critical element of the next stage of our growth and product expansion.

At Origami, we’re building our platform from the ground up with renewables in mind, to handle real time streaming data from a vast number of diverse data sources, and to provide clear insight and support decision making through powerful machine learning algorithms and a scalable, event driven microservice architecture. We use a range of technologies including React, TypeScript, Java, Python, Kafka, SQL and NoSQL persistence. Our platform runs on AWS with Kubernetes and our Product delivery teams own the software they build all the way from idea to production and support.


You belong in this team if you want to

    • Be a technical lead within a small, autonomous product delivery team, owning the front-end platform supporting Origami’s Energy Trading and Automation Platform
    • want to lead technical delivery of our micro-frontend platform, including continuous delivery and automated test of multiple features to multiple customers and geographies
    • Follow agile and devops practices to iteratively deliver high-quality, tested and robust code that achieves the company’s aims according to specification
    • Want an opportunity to take a lead role and contribute across a range of technical areas within the team, including:
      • Web App Architecture
      • User Interaction and User Interface Design
      • Customer-Facing APIs
      • Work alongside other (cross-platform) developers and designers in a dynamic and creative environment
    • Have the opportunity to explore new technologies
    • Take ownership for your own work and that of your team

We would love it if you had

  • Strong experience with testable component-based JavaScript/Typescript frameworks such as AngularJS, ReactJS or Vue
  • Demonstrable experience of TDD and JavaScript Test Automation, utilising frameworks and tools such as jasmine, wallaby, etc
  • Understands isolated UI component deployment to support rapid deployment and test – we want you to evolve our micro-frontend platform
  • Experience with RESTful APIs
  • Experience with Agile working practices such as Scrum and Kanban
  • Experience with AWS cloud services

Experience of working in environments where uncertainty and hard problems are solved positively, rapidly, and collaboratively
